What is Senate Bill 548 from 2022?

This change passed during the 2nd session of the 85th Legislature that concluded on March 12, 2022. Over 60 days, the West Virginia legislature passed 293 Bills, 150 in the House and 134 in the Senate. Senate Bill 548 specifically aims to enhance the collection of data to assist in the administration of tax laws and improve the accuracy of the state's workforce and economic development programs.

Employers must submit certified reports quarterly, containing information prescribed by the commissioner, including information about employment classifications and work locations. The information obtained is confidential and cannot be published or revealed to the public. However, the commissioner may provide the information to certain governmental entities as long as they agree to keep the information confidential.
