Michigan UIA: MiUI Go-Live

What Employers & TPAs Need to Know

Key Information

Michigan UIA Announces MiUI Tax System Go-Live & MiWAM Downtime

The Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency (UIA) has set a new Go-Live date for the first phase of the MiUI system, which will support unemployment tax functions for employers and third-party administrators (TPAs). The tax and employer account components of the modernized MiUI platform are scheduled to launch on Monday, February 23, 2026.

To prepare for this transition, the current MiWAM (Michigan Web Account Manager) system will be temporarily unavailable during a planned downtime from 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 18 through Sunday, February 22, 2026. During this period, users will not be able to access MiWAM for any services.

Once MiUI is live on February 23, 2026, employers and TPAs will resume access to MiWAM, but only for benefit-related functions while tax activities move to the new system. To minimize disruptions, all users are encouraged to complete necessary unemployment insurance tasks in MiWAM before the scheduled downtime.
